. Previous owner spliced the antenna cable from the
CDR24
to the antenna controller. Need to replace the antenna cable - where is the antenna controller located? This feeds the left and right antennas. Thanks for the help.
Wish someone had replied here! I am installing the PCCM+ and this is the last thing I have to find and loop off. Either my car doesnt have one...or it is located in a different spot than the 997 guys. Anyone anyone?
From a 2009 AllDataDIY diagram:
It shows two of them, looks like they're on the A pillars behind the trim. It doesn't say what level audio this is, and due to the different year yours may be different - but probably worth removing that trim and taking a look.
Thanks Don. I think what you found are the antenna amps, in the A-pillars. I am searching for the control module, which I tried to copy below...it won't fit in the a-pillar. Search is still on!
Do you see the topmost thing in that diagram - the antenna selector switch (ie - diversity selector picks the strongest signal) - looks like it's dead center. Doesn't tell you if it's in the cowl area, or in the under-dash area (which is pretty crowded already with the
PCM
and HVAC box.
Yep, I spent an hour today digging around in the cowl area, and behind the dash...nothing. Even as I traced antenna wires they didnt lead to anything like that control module. I am starting to wonder if that module is for cars equipped with
PCM
from the factory. Mine was
CDR24
/w
bose
from factory. I have the new PCCM in and working great, except radio reception is not great...cant help but wonder if that has something to do it with...or if I am overthinking things.
How many antenna wires can you see in the windshield? I know the windshields came with 1 or 2, depending on how the car was equipped. Put white paper on the outside of the windshield, have a bright light shining on the paper, look for the wires from the inside, they are almost microscopic in size.
