Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I would try properly lubricating the seals and mechanisms before adding any layers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey rennlist
any targa owners here that do have a good proposal to add a thin seal between the targa roof and the chassis at the fron where the roof hits the chassis?
there are noises (wind and squeaks) and i want to reduce it.
any proposal is more than welcome
I would try properly lubricating the seals and mechanisms before adding any layers. My targa roof squeaked A LOT before I lubed it, totally silent after.
Here's what I did. There are other threads on the topic as well, including more detail on the motor, cables, etc. Rennlist is a good forum, with a broad and deep pool of information. Search is your friend.

I'm in the same boat, and would love a suggestion. Lubricating helped everything but the front position.
For me, it's an issue with when the roof is open the wind deflector doesn't quite press up against the seal. You can lightly push it with your hand and the noise completely goes away.
With roof closed, I assume it's the same issue.
My assumption is that a very thing layer of....something...would solve these ills.
Ah! Yes mine does that too. (Assuming you mean wind noise) I don't drive in that configuration often enough for it to bother me though. I suppose you could try to increase the spring tension, but care would be needed to avoid overwhelming the closing mechanism. Also would that even help things out i the middle of the deflector?
It's an interesting problem. When I get my car back on the road maybe I'll look into it.
Yep wind noise. I rarely, rarely drive with the roof open but notice it with the roof closed and definitely when the it is open. It's not too bad but more silence would be welcome
How do you increase the spring tension? There's a thread that suggested such a thing but on mine it looks like the deflector is in the full out position. I don't know if the springs would help?
I'm wondering if something like a sound deadening material would be useful. It's tacky on one side and smooth on the other, plus it's malleable so it could be shaped to fit (?). I have some and may try it out.
I had tried some of that adhesive foam weather stripping/door sealant stuff but it wasn't sticky enough to stay put.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
