This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I want to replace my 99 boxster's shifter to a 2002 911 shifter. It appears to me that the 911 shift knob/lever/boot will fit my boxster with no modifications. Can anyone verify this before I order the part? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I assume you have a manual transmission. The shifters for the 996 family of cars - 1999-2003, all fit the Boxster. But they have 6 speeds, and you have a '99 which is a 5 speed. The 996 shifter will fit your car but the shift pattern will be for a 6 speed. Jeff
