Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hello all, With my radio off, it will turn itself on automatically in my 2011 987.2 when I'm driving. Not a big problem but was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and what the problem might be. Thank you in advance.

POST 2Original post

How often is it doing it? If the radio crashes and reboots it'll come back up with the Porsche logo and then start playing. Happens once in a while to me.

POST 3Original post

Actually, the radio never crashes. When I have the radio off , it comes back on by itself. It happens all the time. I also cannot get FM stations in an urban area.

POST 4Original post

Not sure about the FM issues (maybe something with the wiring has gone wonky?) but I have to ask how your battery is? If it's original, it's well past replacement time... but anything 5+ years is suspect... those would be my first recommendations.

POST 5Original post

I always have a battery tender charging when not in use, but a new battery might be something to look into. As stated, it's not that big a deal but was curious if anyone else has experienced it.

POST 6Original post

Battery tender helps extend the life, but if you're on the original battery , you've gotten 11 years out of it, which is WELL beyond the life of the battery . There's actually a thread on the 981 where people are running into issues after about 8 years even with tenders. These cars are quite sensitive to old batteries... if you're really at 11 years, then I definitely think you need to change the battery anyway. As I implied before, if you're at 5+ years, I think it's time anyway (tender or no-tender).

POST 7Original post

It's been happening to me, too. The CDR24 sound shuts off and the volume knob has no affect. But if you turn off the car and let it sit for a while, it'll come back on when started. My solution for my birthday: DMX907S | eXcelon | Car Entertainment | KENWOOD USA
