Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 3Original post

You can probably get to it without removing the entire radio. It requires removing the center console side panels. If you have bose, remove the subwoofer - click out the vent looking thing, remove the screw, remove the black plastic thing the screw is holding in, the remove the bigger screw holding in the Bose unit. Remove the Bose unit exposing the two screws holding the panel in, then slide the panel toward the rear of the car. You can now see the back of the radio. Same on the other side except no Bose and you have to remove the little square of carpet (again a screw). Alan

Alan, Thanks for the quick reply! /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbs_up.gifWhich side do you think has easier access to the antenna jack...driver or pass? Also thanks for identifying the vent looking thing....I thought it was an a/c vent. I'll take a pic of how I located the Sirius unit (inside the ash tray area) for others in case it helps someone.

POST 6Original post

I too have recently bough the FM Modulator Relay cables that allow you to put the antenna cable 'in-line' with the FM output of your sirius receiver. The reviews I have read about this solution have been good with improved sound quality over 'over-the-air' FM integration. I wanted to revive this again to see if anyone has suggestions about accessing the plug. I was thinking of taking it to the dealership, but wanted to make sure y'all dont have some helpful hints.

To access the plug you have to take out the headunit, which is really very easy. If you just remove the panels, the head unit is still blocked on both sides by the dash; you could squeeze back there but it would be very difficult. Also, you will need two euro-to-motorola antenna adapters available at bestbuy or at crutchfield.com. To remove the headunit remove the carpeted side panels that are held in with torx-T30 screws, that will reveal 4 (2 per side) torx-T20 screws that you have to unscrew for the side leather panels. Take those out and pull the panels forward they are held in by three clips and will snap out with force. Then there are four plastic hex locks that you have to turn 1\4 turn counter clockwise to push in four metal tabs that hold the headunit in, once you do that, there is a 7mm hex nut that you have to unscrew but not remove and head unit will pop out. - Suneet
