Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
The way I did it is to rub down and remove the 'rubberised' factory finish (it's not the best anyway) use wet and dry abrasive and then get normal spray paint (matched to whatever colour you want).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I’m looking to repaint my graphite grey centre console and other items that give the rubberised and soft touch finish. I can’t find an appropriate paint that I can get hold of in the UK. There is a French company called Soffolk but I can’t get them to ship to the UK. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I had mine done a couple of years ago which was a massive improvement on how it was. To get a good finish you do need to remove everything but it’s worth it.
Plastikote super matt black will give a very OEM finish.
Very easy to apply, just do around 6 light coats. Each coat will take 5 mins to dry, less if you use a heat gun or hairdryer.
This is my centre console I spayed using it (click on thumbnail for full size).....
This is a silver BMW trim I sprayed with it too, you can see how close the finish is when you look at the idrive controller right next to it......
It will take more stick than the rubbererised finishes too.

Thanks. That looks great but I’m looking for the Graphite grey OEM match. I’ve ordered some paint from Plastidip which seems to promise a similar finish so I’ll test that out and report back.
I'm afraid to say if you want it looking like your external paint you'll need to go down to 2000 grit and it'll take time. I did mine, on my Boxster, a few years ago....took a long time to get it looking anything like 'factory'. I've had it redone recently (with some other paint) and indeed had my 996 done as well and paid someone to do it professionally. Yes I enjoyed the challenge and was pleased with it, but professionally it wasn't expensive and actually on my first attempt it took so long, so much undercoat, colour, clear that it probably cost more than it would to have someone just paint it!
Yeah if you want it to look like the bodywork it is all about the prep work.
It needs to be super smooth, and that takes a lot of time and effort doing it at home.
The Plastikote Super Matt is sort of that OEM dimpled effect, so much easier to prep.
That looks great fitted AllAtSea.
