The exhaust found out fitted April is Top Gear Sports re 102183, great comments to sound, but looking to get some touring in need switchable, probs going for design 911 Valvetronic, with wiring done to retro fit centre console switch and not fob.

i used the Spyder performance switchable retro fitted the switch and wiring rather than the fob.

Thanks all for contributions we are in Sheffield anyone around North let me know of any meet ups, the car is really something different it has had new MO30 Bilsteins all round, with 4 wheel fast road setting alignment, handling great.

Hi new to post recently purchased 996 40 anniv, it had sports stainless exhaust fitted April 24 done less than 400mls its not switchable, we thought great initially but no good for intended current use & touring loud droning, any good swap with switchable recommended ?

Hi new to post recently purchased 996 40 anniv, it had sports stainless exhaust fitted April 24 done less than 400mls its not switchable, we thought great initially but no good for intended current use & touring loud droning, any good swap with switchable recommended ? looked at design 911 - part number end 9614. Reccomend specialist Yorkshire area appreciated.
I'm still enjoying my Spyder Performance almost one a year into ownership. Sounds lovely and no drone when open, when closed its the stock noise. The only issue I have is that the tips stick out slightly more than stock.
How are you finding the 40AE otherwise? Congrats on the purchase!
Do you know what brand the exhaust is that’s on there at the moment? Might help give some context and thus better suggestions
Where in Yorkshire? I can’t recommend anyone from personal experience but have been looking around myself for the exact same reasons. I'm also looking at the Topgear switchable exhaust as well as their 200 cel cats and Toyosport headers. TopGear Performance in Doncaster (Topgear dealer) or BAF Motorsport in Wakefield. No personal recommendations as haven't used either but both regularly post satisfied customers on socials and I'll likely to go to one or the other. I came across BAF as I was looking at the industrial estate where he is based for work (commercial surveyor) and he was working on a full custom exhaust on an RS6 and the workmanship on his welds was exquisite!

i used the Spyder performance switchable retro fitted the switch and wiring rather than the fob. open its sounds epic but when closed no drown at all. driving to leman and back was lovely
I fitted a 9e switchable exhaust with 100 CEL Cats. In normal mode its sounds just like a standard X50 exhaust. When open it's awesome at any revs. I must say, when in first gear on my estate revving to 3,000 then easing off for the speed bumps, it gives a lovely crackle. Not a remap, just natural unburnt fuel crackling way in the exhaust.
Apparently it's lighter than the standard X50 exhaust and give 8 to 15 bhp extra (can't be sure). I don't know if 9e still sell these.
What is a realistic weight loss from a full sporty exhaust including manifolds? Have not been able to find any info regarding this. Im trying to se how much lighter my -99 has become
