Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Newbie here. Purchased a 2002 996 turbo two months ago. Drove the car from PA to MD and no issues. I noticed today it started leaking coolant (rear drivers side) after I went for a drive with the AC running . I can only see it on that side and most likely is the coolant expansion tank, but wanted to make sure since this is my first 996. Thanks. Update: I see coolant from other places. Need to lift the car to see if it comes from a different place. Looks like coolant to me and not oil on the other spots.

POST 2Original post

Yep sounds like the tank, and if you have no records its time for a waterpumvp and thermostat.... Also inspect for the integrity of the coolant lines on the engine,, search for "pin coolant line turbo"
