Battery is fully charged (12.6 from memory) At the weekend I removed the fuses, cleaned them up, I also cleaned up each lock sensor and replaced the fob battery - haven't had the issue yet (although yet to check today.......)

This is only for the first open of the day, after running around in it, the car/alarm/fob all return to normal.

Oddly, when using the 2nd key there doesn't appear to be a problem.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
Recently, (I think after the battery nearly going flat, but not quite) when using the key fob, the car will beep twice (on opening and the drivers window will twitch up and down twice). This is only for the first open of the day, after running around in it, the car/alarm/fob all return to normal.
I dont have a machine to clear any codes, I'm more curious if anyone has experienced this?
FYI New Bosche battery (never had any issues (I just didn't drive the car for a while)
Thanks

The issue has reared it's head. Now I have to open manually, and then the alarm sounds and I need to put the key in the ignition to settle. Battery fully charged and starts on the button. Oddly, when using the 2nd key there doesn't appear to be a problem. Is it common to have key faults?
Thanks

Key fob not talking to central locking... is there a reset?
Just came back from holidays (car parked in garage, locked with the door key) to find my key fob no longer talks to the central locking. Followed the instructions in the owners manual... unlocked the door with the key without opening the door, then pressed the fob to reactivate the remote...

My (only) key has recently gone the same way.
It has a new battery, and the fob light works when the little buttons are depressed.
On the car, nothing happens with the locking at all. It's possible to unlock the car physically by turning the key clockwise in the driver's door barrel.
It's also possible to lock the car again with an anti-clockwise motion. This triggers the central locking and all other closures lock also.
I've tried the fob battery polarity reversal and no cigar.
What next?
Many have used this guy and swear by him:

He travels all over the UK and fits you in when in your area. Good price and always fixes.
I can concur, very well priced and central locking working again on my 996
He also could’ve charged me to do my cayenne key as I wanted the spare repaired but he said there’s no point as it still unlocks and starts the car manually, so big respect to him
