Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I've only owned the car for a few days and had been listening to CDs as normal. Stereo worked like it should but today when out driving the CD had a weird scratch sound almost like a vinyl record and then the CD player just stopped. I tried several times to replay the CD and the same result occurred. I thought perhaps it was that particular CD so tried another one. Same results. Anyone hear of anything like this?

POST 2Original post

I've had it happen with disks burned with iTunes on MacOS with both a G5 tower and macbook pro; using a slower burning speed fixes it. However, if they are original cd's, something's probably wrong with the laser alignment or the servo and you need a new unit.
