Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

i went to the dealer and they said they'll install a v1 for $2800 in my rearview mirror... is it worth it?

POST 2Original post

Are you sure they are going to install the -detector- in the mirror? I don't see how it could possibly fit inside the interior mirror. I assume they are talking about mounting the remote display in the mirror. You still have to mount the detector somewhere. For maximum range it is best to mount the detector high in the interior. The most common mounting point is on the windshield orthe passenger side visor, adjacent to the mirror. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the point in putting the remote display in the mirror if the detector will be mounted next to it. hope that helps - Dave

Thats why I bought the escort blue edition if i wanted to take it off i can and moved it to my other cars.

POST 4Original post

V1 is like 400 bucks. The mirror thing is fairly common. People have been selling rear view mirrors with a V1 display integrated into it for a while now. Basically connects right to the display like the usual concealed display kit. First of all... these mirrors are no where NEAR that amount of money. Even to have a custom shop fab one up so it uses the exact Cayman mirror won't cost you near that much. Secondly, what's the point? The best place to mount your V1 would be high near the center of the windshield. Get a hardwire kit, mount the detector right beside the mirror, and use the display that's built into the detector. I can't see the logic in mounting the detector there, and then paying insane monies like that just to have the display IN the mirror -- about 4 inches from where it is on the V1 unit. Jeremy
