Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been having this problem with my 99 C2. The engine is shutting down when it gets up to temperature (around 180c). At first I thought it was the Fuel pump relay, but that wasn't it. Then I replaced the fuel pump today thinking the old one was going out but the engine still shut down when at temp (after driving about 5 miles in town). If I let the car sit for 30 minutes or so and cool down, it'll start right back up and runs until it gets warm then it shuts down. It cranks fine, just doesn't fire up. The pump and the relay are working but something is causing an interruption in fuel delivery when at temp. Anyone experience this before?

Common symptom of a failing CPS; when a bad CPS gets hot, it stops working, the DME doesn’t see the engine rotating and shuts off the fuel and ignition.
