Suggestion

actually yes i've had it installed and it works great on my 06 (using the cayenne kit)...it costs about 2k with installation though so it depends if you really want this or not...certainly it will be cheaper on future installed models with it built in...you just need to find a high end audio shop that knows how to work on porsches before you attempt this...they should get the equipment for you if they know what they are doing!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

XM hits the road with new Porsche deal Washington Business Journal - 1:56 PM EST Tuesday by Neil Adler Staff Reporter XM 's satellite radio service will be equipped in more Porsche vehicles beginning next year in the U.S. market now that XM and Porsche Cars of North America have signed a new long-term agreement. D.C.-based XM, which in recent months has been losing subscribers to New York-based industry rival Sirius, says its service has been available in Porsche's Cayenne models since 2005 and under the new agreement will also be available for other Porsche models. Porsche owners will have access to XM's 170 digital radio channels of music, sports, news, talk and entertainment. XM will also develop specific satellite-delivered data services for Porsche, including a traffic navigation system. "XM has the technology and content that is consistent with Porsche's commitment to providing our customers the best possible driving experience," says Peter Schwarzenbauer, president and CEO of Porsche Cars of North America, which is based in Atlanta. XM (NASDAQ: XMSR) has more than 7 million subscribers. Sirius (NASDAQ: SIRI), with more than 5 million customers, has added more subscribers than XM for four straight quarters.

POST 2Original post

Great, my new car arrives next month and they sign a deal with XM NOW! That's the one thing I'm going to miss the most, my satellite radio, has anyone even attempted to have an aftermarket radio by either XM or Sirius installed in the car?

POST 3Original post

What makes you think they will sell it for the CS? They already have XM in the Cayenne. People were buying the Cayenne module for the CS but Porsche stopped that. I got XM, works fine using the Commander.
