POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Since my car has the Aero wing on it, it loses the rear badging. A few of my friends commented that the car looks a little plain in the rear because of this. I have never really been a fan of the de-badging movement either. So, I ordered a set of badges in chrome, I don't think the satin silver would look right against the reflector and temporarily attached them to the center reflector. I have mixed feelings on how it looks and figured I'd see what you guys think. So let me have it, tasteful mod or ghetto trash?

POST 2Original post

Personally, I'm not a fan of that placement. I prefer the simplicity of the reflector steip as it was intended. However, if you like it then you should keep it!

POST 3Original post

I had a 996 C4S, and I think it looks great on the reflector. You can hardly tell the difference, and looks a lot better than no badging on the rear.

POST 4Original post

I do like the uninterrupted strip on the back, that said this doesnt look too out of place. The only issue I have is that I know where its "supposed" to be stock..without that reference this could pass as factory placement.

POST 5Original post

Like BAD. TAG said it doesn't look too out of place, only Porsche owners will notice it being In the wrong spot. Maybe you should try black, I think it will compliment the bumperettes. Spray paint it with black plastidip just in case you don't like it will peel it right off.

POST 6Original post

Interesting predicament you have. You are one of the very few who have the factory aero wing. I'm going to vote no badge.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the input so far. Here is no badge for the sake of comparison. I think it looks a bit strange without any badging at all.

POST 8Original post

WOW!!!! I prefer no badge!!!! Looks stunning!!!

POST 10Original post

I think it looks great either way. If you like it with the badge, leave it there. Given the sheer volume of stickers Porsche is plastering on the back of their new cars, anything you do is going to be subtle by comparison.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ain't that the truth! The new ones say... P O R S C H E 911 Carrera C4S Now that's a lot of badging!

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 10687571

I like the 991 but the badging borders on bad taste!

POST 14Original post

It kinda looks retro. That's not a bad thing. Anyone want to guess what Hurdi's opinion will be?

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 10687700

Load up all of the badges, labels, crests, etc. you can find into a cannon and fire it at the back of the car to see what sticks?

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought about going that route with the PORSCHE lettering across the reflector in black. Maybe just the chrome PORSCHE lettering (off a Cayenne) would look good across the back, kind of retro but updated?

POST 17Original post

I could not upload pix, but I have tail like yours and carrera c4s is above the red light bar on the metal, tho it is not badge...more like decal. PL

POST 18Original post

To heck with more badging. Lets have more cowbell!

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 10687700

My opinion, well that's obvious.... Fantabidozy.. That's means '****ing terrific' in laymans terms but nobody liked mine, not that I really give a **** haha. I love it. It's yours. Keep it. Don't go the same way as all the other modders. Sheep following each other. Be a rebel and then you become BAD ***. I would prefer to see it in BLACK to match up with the bumperettes. . lol

POST 21Original post

I vote no badge, *** looks wider. With a badge, I would go black.

POST 22Original post

I say keep the badge and send those bumperettes to Eric!

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, after a few months, I finally made a decision and went for the retro look instead of the chrome badging. What do you guys think?

POST 26Original post

LOVE the black Porsche on the reflector...so glad you did that. Nice care. Ray

POST 27Original post

Ya it's a Porsche , what's a carerra anyways, sounds like the name of a night club in rio

POST 29Original post

I'm still a fan of no badging on your beautiful C4S. That being said, I like the new PORSCHE lettering better than the previous badge that you had. Again - if you like it, that's all that really matters. It's your car - make it look the way you want! It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks!

POST 30Original post

Quotes source post: 11129976

I think you made the right choice. Looking at your first pics the badges seemed a bit cluttered and out of place. The reflector lettering looks good with that rear wing.

POST 31Original post

Pretty cool, and quite unique! 2003 Carrera 4S Speed Yellow / 1955 356 Continental 1500 Rust Red

POST 32Original post

Love the black lettering! Just felt compelled to chime in as well. Nicely done.

POST 33Original post

I'd know that car anywhere. The black lettering look great man. Maybe I will catch up with you one of these days if we can ever dig out from all this snow!

POST 36Original post

No wing works for me, I love the C4S as clean as she comes!

POST 37Original post

Black lettering looks great and compliments the bumperettes. Very retro, but it works !

POST 39Original post

are you sure thats a OEM wing, looks ok but ive never seen that one,its not a carerra spoiler and its not an aero kit 2 spoiler, maybe its the aerokit spoiler for turbo or widebody?

POST 40Original post

yes i see now,its the aero kit spoiler for the turbo, makes sense you dont see that one very often....good luck....ps. leave it debadged

POST 41Original post

Quotes source post: 10687394

Second, thats ugly. My 4S came debadged from the factory.

POST 42Original post

Quotes source post: 11129976

That looks FREAKING AWESOME! Very reminiscent on the 944

POST 43Original post

Quotes source post: 11133817

Being as the Turbo deck lid doesn't fit the C4S they must have made a very small number of those deck lids for the C4S which makes them quite rare. I love the retro look of the black lettering. It fits with the retro look of the center reflector which I wish they would have put on the Turbo.

POST 46Original post

I love the black lettering. Now I want to do the same to my c4s, it will go well with my black roof Where did you buy them?

POST 47 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 11133972

I created it myself after much trial and error with different sizes and such. The tricky part was getting the curve right since that rear reflector actually has a slight curve to it and isn't straight across. Send me your email address via PM and I'll send you the file. You can take it to any sign shop to have them cut the vinyl. I got 5 of them cut out for $20.

POST 48Original post

I think this looks pretty natural to me. The badge does not look out of place.

POST 49Original post

Quotes source post: 11134084

PM sent. Thank you

POST 51Original post

ok someone needs to confirm,if the turbo spoiler from the aerokit will fit on a c4s or not? i doubt they made one specific for the c4s...of course i could be wrong...thanks

POST 52 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 11136531

They did make a specific aero spoiler for the C4S that retains the center reflector. The part number is 996.512.901.04. I imagine the Turbo spoiler might fit, but you would lose the center reflector. Here's a different angle shot of the rear for a better view of the spoiler.

POST 53Original post

Quotes source post: 11136531

Nope it will not. I've done extensive searching and reading on the topic searching for a wing for my C4S. There is a good thread over on 6 speed. A Google search for turbo spoiler on c4s will lead you to some links with side by side photos of a custom conversion.

POST 54Original post

The panel above the deck lid that holds the third brake light on the C4S is wider than the turbo's panel. Because of this the C4S deck lid is shorter than the turbo. Ask me how I know: c4s lid1.jpg

POST 55Original post

Quotes source post: 11136946

That is bizzare, there have been multiple people that put a turbo rear deck onto a 4s

POST 56Original post

Here's a nice looking wing for the C4s IMO. I believe it is a TechArt Type I. techart.jpg

POST 57Original post

Quotes source post: 11136956

That I'd like to see. Do you have any links? Beyond the obvious size differences it would require major modifications on the underside of the deck lid due to different air box intakes and other obstacles. I'm not saying it can't be done but a ton of work would be required. I have a spare turbo deck lid that I'm wanting to graft the lower portion of the C4S lid on to it to get the center reflector. It's on the back burner as I haven't found a used or damaged reflector at a reasonable price and I'm not going to buy a new one for an experiment as they are quite pricey. If I ever do it I think I'd do what the OP did as the lettering looks awesome. c4s lid2.jpg

POST 58Original post

Quotes source post: 11136969

That's my favorite so far. I like it best because you don't end up with two third brake lights. Note it does not replace the C4S decklid. It replaces the movable spoiler only. There are some Gt3tek BetterBodies ? Clones of that rear spoiler bolt-on on ebay for <$800. I really do like the OP black lettering.

POST 59Original post

I found a 2005 Renntech.org post on a Turbo Wing conversion to the C4S. In this install you loose the C4 Reflector http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...on-my-c4s-cab/

POST 61Original post

Very interesting. I looked up the deck lid part number in the PET Catalog and it shows different part numbers for Cabrio vs. Coupe. Could it be the cabs have a larger deck lid that is the same as the turbo size? Looks like that's the case.

Hey @oldsock how did you get the black Porsche writing on your rear center reflector that i see on your profile picture? It looks amazing and I would love to replicate it. I've been looking everywhere.

POST 66Original post

Quotes source post: 11134084

@oldsock Do you still have the file by chance?

POST 67Original post

@azaytsev hey did @oldsock send you the file for the vinyl cut on the rear reflector "Porsche" lettering?

POST 68Original post

Hey @Pooga996 did you get a hold of @azaytsev and/or the file? I reached out by PM and no response, even though it says they have been logging on most days. Sigh.
