Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I swapped the PCCM+ on my car for the GT3 centre section delete and a continental headunit - I really prefer the look.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

So after looking at after market options for Apple CarPlay and listening to the nah sayers especially Porsche saying that the single din PCCM units are only for 993 and earlier I sort of gave up and went with a Continental unit with dab and phone connectivity and it worked fine and looked good, I was still hankering after an Apple CarPlay option, I then had the opportunity to buy a PCCM single din unit, boxed with all the parts including the maps.

I have today had it fitted by ACS audio in Swindon, took a couple of hours and it looks amazing, sounds better then either the Continental or the original Becker unit. I’ve also had the USB block put under the dash rather than in the cubby, which would mean drilling the back of the cubby and I would lose this valuable space, it doesn’t interfere with my knee and I’m over 6 feet tall. Very pleased with this option, so for anyone considering this option, IT CAN BE DONE. For clarity, I never went with the double din as I don’t like the look in the cabin, I much prefer the single din look, fits better with the age of the cabin, and yes you can see the maps etc, not much different from my iPhone screen.

POST 2Original post

the single din system fit cars with single din, nicely done my old back in the day GT3 with the Becker Cascade, at the time Apple has just launched the 1st iphone !

POST 3Original post

I don't think anyone ever questioned whether it could be done, just the four figure cost of the head unit personally I would absolutely love one

Thanks for sharing your installation. It looks great. Couple of questions if I may, 1) was there the option to have the unit above the climate control panel? 2) do you know how they handled the DAB aerial? Was it connected into your existing windscreen aerial? Thanks in advance, James

POST 5Original post

Never seen the radio above But assuming the cables and wiring for the CCU are long enough, then it might be possible …. The issue might be the depth behind, might not exist for a standard single DIN unit

I want to swop my double din PCCM plus for the signal and do the GT3 centre section delete

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 2709656

I bet that would also look great. How is the PCCM Plus? I would prefer the PCM Classic but it isn't offered by Porsche offically.

I swapped the PCCM+ on my car for the GT3 centre section delete and a continental headunit - I really prefer the look. There are some cheap as chips aliexpress single DIN headunits, I'm tempted to try...as I can't really justify the cost of the Porsche single DIN Carplay headunit

Were your heated seats buttons relocated after the GT3 delete...?

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 2709853

Yes, I relocated them on my car when I did the GT3 delete - it was easy enough.
