I have searched - the answers I see from search are inconclusive. I have a 2006 BS with manual climate control. If the Automatic Climate Control module (the controller in the dash with the Auto button on it) is swapped in, does it work, and does everything work?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Outcome without a verified action link
: it worked for the heat but did not engage the AC compressor.
No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

Unlikely, since there are other sensors involved that aren't in that dash unit. I expect there may be other things involved, and maybe even some coding ( Porsche loves coding things)...
This is the thing - there are answers like this in threads here and in the same threads people who answer that they have done it and it works just fine.
At least on the 987.2 the parts manual shows different wiring harnesses and HVAC boxes. Also found a thread where someone tried it on a 987.2 : it worked for the heat but did not engage the AC compressor.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
