Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261027T013556Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 3Original post

General opinion is to update to the 04 cap as the original 01 type does fail. Mine had been done by previous owner. All my previous Boxster's had the 04 cap. Alot of folk consider them a " serviceable item ".

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The only downside is it costs time and money old bean!

POST 6Original post

Agreed, cost is circa £15 and time is circa 30 seconds. As noted above many consider these service items as they perform an important function that you can't test in advance and you'll only know it's failed when it's too late.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will get it done but it takes me longer than 30 seconds to drive to my opc

POST 8Original post

I changed mine to the 04 a few years ago just because the original was years old, strangely I get a tiny bit of pink staining around the base of the cap every now and then, I never need to top it up though!

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
