Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A long shot but does anyone know anyone or know if there's a realistic possibility of somehow getting official CAD files of a 996 interior dashboard parts? I know the route most aftermarket manufacturers go with (3D scan existing parts, and recreated parts based on that). Or anyone in the past attempted to build an ultra accurate 3D file of the 996 dash and components.

POST 2Original post

negative you'll have to scan the parts yourself

I wonder if we will ever get to the point where manufacturers release design docs for old staff, say over 60 years or something? I imagine there would be issues with intellectual property etc but as a professional cad monkey it's great to dream!

yeh just thinking with the whole right to repair laws and so forth. Nowthat manufacturing is a lot more easier in comparison to ten years ago - would be great to be able to 3d print custom parts (especially from an interior perspective)

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
