Indicators now cancel correctly......so if you have the same problem I would suggest first checking your Clockspring has the cancellation tab on the rear side (you will have to take it off before you get to indicator unit).

For the rivets I used 2.4x6mm and they were small enough not to crack the plastic.

I used a thin flat metal ruler to hold it all in place while I put the case on and then slid it out and taped it down or use a clamp then applied the rivets.

If bit's not broken take the indicator unit off and follow the instructions on Jeff's video to repair indicator stalk spring and check the tiny cancellation tab and springs inside the unit are correctly positioned.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi I've been attempting to follow the Home Built By Jeff video on how to fix the non cancelling indicator problem
https://youtu.be/h_r9HrIc6rs
I've got as far as opening the indicator unit housing and a part just fell out so I've no idea how it's all supposed to fit together. Does anyone know what this part is and how it fits together with the other parts inside the indicator unit.
Well done Moko! I just tried this with my old one. I never did figure out where that little clears cap went, so thanks for the tip! Be careful with rivets, I cracked my casing :x
I also did this yesterday and I had the same issue trying to figure out where the clear plastic piece went!
For anyone attempting this I thought it would include the items I bought to fix the indicator issue:
Rotary Tool Kit, GOXAWEE 130W Multi-Functional Mini Grinder Set with 140 Accessories (Keyless Chuck & Flex Shaft) Varible Speed Multi Tool for Craft Projects & DIY Creations

Blue Spot 09101 Hand Rivet Gun...

Gorilla Glue Gorilla 25ml Epoxy
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009NQQJFC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
For the rivets I used 2.4x6mm and they were small enough not to crack the plastic.
I was very liberal with the epoxy and did two applications to reinforce. I left it 24hrs before attaching the spring.
It's quite difficult to put the metal case back on while holding indicator stalk etc together. I used a thin flat metal ruler to hold it all in place while I put the case on and then slid it out and taped it down or use a clamp then applied the rivets.
I hope this helps.
Yep putting it back together is a nightmare like a comedy cuckoo clock.
I had to reopen mine as a spring slipped out of place during assembly so I'm now trying glueing the springs that power the contact bars in place before attempting reassembly and also placing a dab of glue on the black and white pillars to stop the tiny springs coming off again.
It's not an easy job this but if it saves buying a whole new unit £££ then it will be worth it in the end.
Hopefully these posts will help the next people who attempt this job.
Well it all went back together and everything was moving like it's designed to.
Glueing the springs in place definitely makes reassembly much easier without them shooting all over the place as you wrestle to fix the lid back on the indicator housing.
Now here's the upsetting part after spending two days playing with all of this the indicators still don't cancel after I turn a corner.
The main spring on the indicator stalk is fixed perfectly in position and was never even broken in my unit. Also the tab that slides in and out which was the black piece featured in my first pic also moves correctly.
So why don't they cancel....does anyone have any ideas that I can check out?
Maybe glueing the springs has caused some other issue. You have to ask yourself why they were not glued in the first place bearing in mind how difficult it is to get the unit together :?:
I look forward to an update.
Pip
I don't think gluing the springs in their little recesses has made any difference to how the unit performs.
The answer as to why they weren't glued in the first place.....dexterous women's hands probably built the units and glueing would have taken longer and cost more
Hopefully someone will come along with some more suggestions on how to fix this annoying problem.
As my Airbag slip ring / Clockspring part broke after I reassembled everything I've been looking to see why the indicators don't cancel even though all the parts seem to move correctly in the indicator unit itself.
Then I found this photo....which shows a tab on the slip ring / Clockspring that moves when the steering wheel rotates and forces the little plastic tab that protrudes (the annoying one that's suspended by two tiny springs) back into the unit cancelling the indicators.
I'm waiting for a new slip ring / Clockspring to arrive hoping that this tab is present.
Hopefully this information will help others trying to fix their non cancelling indicator problems.
More investigations on the photo below which is my broken slip ring / Clockspring you can see the two broken supports for the cancelling tab (opposite where my finger shows)
I've also put a couple of photos where you can see the tab more clearly.

I had my indicator stalk stop cancelling a couple of weeks ago, and the clear piece fell out when I split the unit, I couldn't work out where it came from so I just left it out. I araldited the two arms back together and the indicators have canceled perfectly since, but my main beam flasher doesn't work now, I have searched all over for a pictures of where the clear piece goes and I have just found your picture on here. I am hoping when I fit the clear piece it'll cure my flashing fault and I'll have saved £350.
