Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I like doing reversible mods to my 2003 C4S. I have put a fixed carbon rear wing on it, aftermarket seats, and most recently a front splitter. I bought a sheet of 3/8" ABS and cut it out as shown. I had already purchased an aftermarket lip. I bolted it to that lip with all stainless fasteners. Then I added the supports shown. While I had the bumper cap off I welded some bosses to the aluminum support (ok that's not very reversible, although it is hidden). I bought some 8mm square carbon fiber tube with a round 1/4" hole. It fit snugly through the license plate holes. I drilled and tapped for 1/4-20 stainless socket cap screws. I hope the rest is somewhat self explanatory. Next up is a home made cold air intake and a 5" round aluminum scoop under the wing.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

These seats take about 100lbs off the curb weight. Add back in 9lbs for the splitter. I think the rear wing was about a wash weight wise, maybe even a bit lighter than the movable wing components.

A pet peeve of mine is yellowed or faded headlights. I got these two crystal clear lights from ebay sellers for 625. They both had cracked housings which I repaired with plastic epoxy/reinforced mesh. I sold one of mine for 450 and plan to put the other one up for sale soon. It seems hard to find a decent light for less than 800 each
