I had a new clutch (sachs) fitted on mine at 103k miles.

Also a vid showing how you are driving when it happens may show if you're potentially doing anything which might be causing it, not saying you are, but I did go to a Porsche meet once and an old timer couldn't drive off slowly without using about 5k revs to get going!!!!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing with a new clutch.
So I have new clutch in my c4s that has been in the car since February of this year but I noticed it still has that burning clutch smell.
After looking up on the net to understand why, many people state that the clutch probably needs breaking in after 1000 miles or around that.
So I’ve finally hit around 1300 miles with the new clutch but yet I’ve still got that horrible smell! And to be fair I’m not even pushing the car in any harsh way at all!
Has anyone experienced anything like this at all? Is it something I should be worried about? Could it be something else rather than the clutch?
Just want to get any ideas before I take the car back to my reputable Porsche specialist.
there should be no smell what do ever that you describe
it is a distinct smell and needs get looked at, quite possible the clutch wasn't aligned correctly
who did the work ?
I don’t really want to be naming and shaming until it’s resolved. Obviously if they don’t fix the issue then I will be naming. I did contact them when I found out that I could still smell clutch burn and they did say allow for the clutch to break in after afew hundred miles, if the smell still exists then bring the car back to them.
I guess this is my only choice.
New clutch fitted a couple of years ago in the family CRV. Missus absolutely fried it slipping the clutch for an hour in traffic on a hill (kids told me), It’s ok now. The smell lasted for about 6 months, so it might just be a pervasive bedding in smell although that is unusual.
I had a new clutch (sachs) fitted on mine at 103k miles. Didn't half give off a wiff of the compound they're made from (like brake pads), especially driven hard, hill starts or holding on a slope. Clutch lasted for 5 years and 41k miles. New clutch I had fitted after that never wiffs at all.
I've had issues with my clutch since I fitted it around 5 months ago, and at least 3000 miles, the bite point feels very low and on occasion slips, and if driving hard and braking the clutch pedal sticks down. I have bled many times and most recently with a new pressure bleeder I bought, I've put around 3 litre of fluid through it. I've removed the gearbox again and checked everything, the plate is the correct way around and I bought a new clutch lever arm, and pivot ball. I've also changed the master cylinder a couple of weeks ago, just in case, 'kin nightmare of a job to refit.
It drives fine in normal conditions but I have always felt it was something to do with the new clutch or flywheel causing my problem as it only started being an issue when I changed them, I did wonder if there is a Sach batch problem.
I had a new clutch last year and no smell at all, this makes me wonder if they did actually replace it as there was nothing wrong with the old one and I only had it changed as the gearbox was out. The only time I've smelt my clutch is when I had to nudge up the insanely steep ramp, an inch at a time, to get onto a ferry in a futile attempt not to catch my front lip.
To the op might be worth taking your car to a different indy to see what they think, it could be the smell is from something different such as a minor oil leak which is getting on the exhaust for example.
