Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2002 cab that I am considering getting the IMS upgrade done on. Does anyone have recomendations for a mechanic near Phila? I have used Galbraith years ago on an '87 911 cab. I keep reading about the failures and think I need to consider this. The car has 41k and is perfect in every respect. I was going to wait till I needed a clutch but I continue to worry. Any recomendations?

POST 2Original post

In Philly: Woodlawn in Germantown. Western burbs: lots of good ones out in Chester county--Dougherty's in West Chester, Performance Automotive in Malvern, Possum Hollow in Phoenixville.

POST 3Original post

+1 For Dougherty's. They did my PPI and were very good. I don't know if anyone in this area has had the retrofit bearing installed yet so it may be new to every indy in this area. It's something I will consider once my CPO warranty is gone in 2011.

POST 4Original post

I know that Dougherty's is aware of the retrofit, as I discussed it with them at the PPI for my 996. I don't know if they've done any yet.

POST 5Original post

First time shops have no issues. The first time they do the procedure I am available for LIVE support while the bearing is being extracted (by appointment).
