Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ahead of fixing my rear bumper, today I switched the broken one over for a new old one. While I had the bumper off I thought I'd check the heat shields and found this. It's similar on the other side but isn't yet snapped. So the lower heat shield is probably the source of my rattle. The upper, larger shield seems ok. Does anyone know if these are replaceable or fixable?

POST 2Original post

I usually fix mine with either some metal putty or some Stainless strip and make a home made bracket.

POST 3Original post

I’m currently replacing my cats/backbox’s and nearly every heatshield fixing is loose or broken. Thankfully i cant hear any rear rattles over the dash rattles
