Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The trunk light bulb is stuck on. Can I just pull the bulb for now? I believe yes but better to check. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Yes but I would try to find out why. Careful, those bulbs get hot.

POST 3Original post

I took the bulbs out of both front and back years ago. Didn't want to worry about leaving them open and the lights on.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay thanks. Ill worry about next winter. Time to drive.

POST 5Original post

I am curious to know how you know your trunk light stays on? From what I've seen, the car will automatically shut off lights after 2-5 minutes, for instance if the trunk lid is open. There is a microswitch on the hood latch mechanism that is both the switch for the frunk light and is integrated in the security system. When locking, do you get a single beep warning a zone is open?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The light eventually turned off after approx. 30 mins. Weird. As far as the security, I believe it was 2 flashes lock the door, one unlocks. Everything as far as running the car is business as usual. Currently no issues. I will keep an eye on it.

I agree with Joe. More than likely the problem is the microswitch. They are plastic and known to go bad. (see picture). It's located in the locking mechanism. Are you getting a MIL illuminated on the dash noting the frunk is open? If not, then the microswitch is working and something else is the problem.
