Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, new 996 owner also have 987 Boxster Interested if its possible to get door gaskets for lock strike plates on my 996 as I know these can damage paintwork where metal meets paint. Notice on my 987 they are present. Think Porsche added them after issue was raised. (Hope I've used right terminology to describe the issue!!)

POST 2Original post

The gasket isn't shown as a separate part on the parts lists. I think it is a plastic film applied to the striker, so you probably have to buy the whole striker plate to get it. They are only £6.41+VAT each, so it wouldn't break the bank to buy one and see what you get. Item 12 on the attached. Download
