Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There are two types and depending on the thickness they might be attached to the hub with a bolt; then you would use the standard bolts would to attachthe wheel to the spacer.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Are the wheel spacers permanately placed or are the just bolted in each time you place the wheel?

POST 2Original post

They appear to have screws that fix them to the hub. I have not made the plunge to buy them yet however so I'm just going by the photos. Edited by - Santa Fe on 03/24/2006 10:53:48 AM

POST 3Original post

There are two types and depending on the thickness they might be attached to the hub with a bolt; then you would use the standard bolts would to attachthe wheel to the spacer. The other kind requires longer bolts that go through the wheel and the spacer and then screw into the wheel hub.

POST 4Original post

The small wheel spacers just slide onto the hub centering feature of wheel splines. This is the part of the spline that centers your wheel when it is installed. This spacer just hangs there when the wheel is taken off of the car. It will not even fall off, so there is no problem here. Porsche has chosen to attach their 5mm spacers with 2 screws which is totally unnecessary, especially when their price is about 3 times the price of ours.
