Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I don't know of a simple mod for this, but the SmartTop module I installed recently allows this, along with "one touch" roof operation etc.
Leading evidence: 'Install recently allows this, along' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install recently allows this, along' (1 discussions). Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all new the forum and got a question. I have a 2004 4sConvertible and just noticed that the rear side windows wont go up when the hood is down?? I was told by Porsche that this is standard on the convertibles but was wondering has anyone every modified/found a way to put them up?

Welcome to the forum.

I could be wrong but i thought the smart top wasn't compatible with the later cars due to them coming with the one touch operation, hood down up to 30 mph that the smart top offers???

Thanks for the replies. Yes the hood does go down on mine while driving, but windows rear windows wont come up. There must be a fairly simple way to bypass the window lock system when hood is down.

There is a cheat - and it works on my 1999 Cab......just poke your little finger into the hole that the hook goes into when the roof is up- push back the flap over the hole and press the buttons for the windows and they will go up and down.
Im sure someone celverer than me could fabricate a little hook of metal to clip on when the hood is down - would save on purchasing a SmartTop....

possibly so...I cant work out whether its the pushing of the flap or some kind of IR sensor in there - its a pretty small gap and the little finger is the only tool ive tried....blue tak could work but could get stuck up there - its a bit tricky even with my Tiptronic to do it on the move....

SmartTop is compatible with later 996 cabs. AFAIK the later cars don't have one touch operation as standard. You can open and close the roof whilst moving, but still have to keep the button pressed.

Thats great info!! I'll have to have a go at that and look into making some type of key device to pop in when the hood is down.
