Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I need help please Does the 996 have more than the one main battery?, does it have a separate alarm batterys? I left my 996 not charged for a few months and when I have come to remove the battery and disconnected the battery the alarm still goes off?- does this have a separate supply and does it have an issue I can resolve? thanks folks as always

POST 2Original post

Not as far as I know but Richard Hamilton will.

POST 3Original post

The alarm siren has a backup battery in it. The system thinks you are trying to steal the battery! Before you disconnect the battery, switch the ignition on, then switch it off, but DO NOT remove the key. This will prevent the siren going off.
