Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello, does the driver mirror have a special coating? The glass has a brown tint to it, and making it difficult to use. I don't see the same issue with the passenger mirror.

POST 2Original post

Hi Greg, Welcome to Planet-9, the Friendly Porsche Forum. Not knowing anything about your Cayman except the year and it's an S - it's hard to answer that question. Is your car equipped with self-dimming mirrors? If so - a darker mirror is usually a sign the mirror has gone bad - and dimmed itself permanently. How about visiting New Member Introductions and telling us about you and your Cayman. People like pictures there, we go oooohhhh and aaaahhh over them.

POST 3Original post

Hello, thanks for the reply. I did some searching after creating this post. I determined that my Cayman has auto-dimming mirrors. I've also read that the mirror can go bed, and when this happens, it will turn brown. Time to replace the mirror. Thanks for replying.

POST 4Original post

You should be able to purchase just the glass assembly (with the wiring for the dimming function.. and heat..)

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
