Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My wife accidently put her Kia key into my 2005 Boxster ignition and tried to start the car. After she removed the key (which did not break off) the Boxster will no longer allow me to enter my key. The steering wheel is locked and I am unable to insert the key. Help!!!

POST 2Original post

Get under the drivers side dash, pull out the piece of ductwork (just pulls out), and disconnect the purple connector from the rear of the ignition switch. Plug it back in and the key may work. If not, she may have jammed up part of the lock mechanism. Spray it with some graphite or wd-40 to loosen things up.
