Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, Having recently purchased a fine looking 996 Carrera 2, I thought I would re-join the club. I was originally a member in 1986 when at the tender age of 23 I got myself a 1979 928. It was a lovely car and I managed to keep it for 5 years until I needed a deposit for a house.(How often have you heard that?). I also bought a 911 back then and I can't say I ever regret not getting it but.........well, you know it's the itch that needs scratching. So here I am the proud owner of a 1999 model with GT3 kit and Turbo wheels.

POST 2Original post

Welcome Barry! If you rejoined the club you might want to get your forum status changed, so that you can access the members only areas. See here: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=70284 Looks like you got your car from Henry Firmin. How was that as a buying experience? I've never met anyone who has bought a car from 911virgin, but he seems a very straightforward sort of chap.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Richard, Yes, I did indeed buy from Henry. I actually was looked after by a young chap called Daniel who is very proffesssional and seems to have an in depth knowledge of the cars and although I know one Porsche from another I'm not mechanically minded and wouldn't really know what I was looking at so there was a fair amount of trust involved but I spent 3 hours with him and he was very patient and was able to answer all my questions. Henry was always around and introduced himself and we had a good chat. I had read a bit about him on a couple of forums and his own website and he has a bit of a reputation as being very forthright and I was expecting a bit of an overbearing figure who would be very difficult to deal with. However he is very pleasant to talk to and has a good sense of humour and seemed to have a genuine interest in my needs. I have bought from many different dealers in my time and have to say this was one of the most relaxed atmospheres in which I've bought a car and would certainly use him again.
