I’m looking to clean the black convertible top for my 2009 911 Carrera S. Can anyone recommend a product for this,
Ragg Top for the canvass Plexus for the "glass"
Can you clean the lights, mirrors and widows also with plexus?
Plexus is a specialty product designed with plastic in mind, it originally was used on aircraft polymer parts. It's my fault for confusing you as "glass" is what they called all the plastic window pieces of a boat top when I owned one, so that's why I slipped that in. It's probably fine on the headlight covers, in fact it probably wouldn't harm real glass but it likely won't clean it as well as say a product like "invisible glass" and might even smear, keep it specifically for the rear window, try it there first you won't be disappointed.
Headlights, I carefully buffed them with 3m Finess it and a foam waffle pad and then wax them... you only need to buff it once in a while at the most, but I wax mine all the time... same with paint... 3m/wax
I use Sprayaway on all my glass areas. Plexus will work on the polycarbonate parts such as headlamps and turn signals, but you can use Sprayaway on any of those parts. It’s non-alcoholic, so safe for plastics and polycarbonate areas.
Spray away is a decent product. I live where headlights go opaque from the blistering sun. The only thing that seems to stop it for real is vigilant garage use or a cover if it's sitting outside in a parking lot all day. In the North the salt kills cars in the south the sun strips the paint right off the ones in the driveway because the two car garage is filled with junk.
I live in both places (except this year), ya Florida is rough on paint.. heat/rain... up here in MN, ya salt is also rough on metal.. I’ve always garaged all the cars... it’s a must
the P-cars and MR2 never see winter.. ever!!
A 2009 911 Cabrio doesn't have a glass rear window?
I bought the top cleaner, never used it. Our region's National Concours Champion told me years ago - just raise it off with water, don't wash or use cleaners. So I never did and never found a need to do so. Had my 00 for 8 years, the 04 was 12 years old when I sold it. Never needed to clean or wash it. Remove lint - yes, wash no.
