I have a 2017 911S coupe with 8,200 miles and is in pristine condition. I ordered it from the dealership so it was well spec'ed. GT Silver. MSRP was 124k. I was looking at a pre-owned BMW 850M at a dealership. We couldn't come to an agreeable price but the manager really liked my car and wanted to buy it for himself. His best offer was $88,000. To the best of my knowledge, the car's trade-in value is worth around 85k. I do understand that if I purchase a car with and trade mine in, I would be getting a tax credit of around $5,900 so I would be losing $2,900 in trade allowance if I sold it outright. I would probably be waiting to purchase a pre-owned 850M or M8 for a few months so the purchase price would be lower which would offset my $2,900 loss, not to mention the further depression of my car.
TO FINALLY GET TO THE POINT, is $88,000 a good price for my car? I know it does retail higher but it would be a simple, no hassle transaction. I appreciate any input!
Well, it seems low to me, unless I over paid. For example, I bought a 2014 911S Carrera last year, in Oct from a local Porsche dealer as a PCO vehicle. It had about 32,000 miles and they had just completed the 40,000 mile service on the car, added new tires, etc. Great condition, but probably not "pristine". I paid about $74,000. I am also on the west coast, where car prices (and everything else) are higher. I have also heard that having a vehicle PCO costs the dealer about $5,000, but I cannot verify this.
I called the dealership to look into certifying my car and the price was $4,000 plus any parts needed such as tires, brakes etc. They told me I also needed to complete any maintenance that was scheduled. This includes oil changes, brake fluid flush, and spark plugs. I can't imagine needing plugs at 8100 mikes. The $5,000 they quoted you seemed accurate.
