Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I have a 2009 911 carrera S. The silver covering/paint on spokes of steering wheel is chipping away ...almost as if peeling off. Any suggestion on how to replace. It is just white plastic underneath.

POST 2Original post

which steering do you have tomjoad? have you considered a wrap or repainting the plastic? or you thinking of changing the steering wheel?

POST 3Original post

I have the original wheel. It has the toggle buttons on one of the left and right spokes. I don’t want to change the wheel. Is there a wrap or paint you would recommend ?

POST 4Original post

You could try Rub n Buff - it is available from art supply stores and is great for such uses. I have used it for restoring alloy parts on motorbikes for several years & it works well.

POST 6Original post

if you have the push/pull buttons the wheel you likely have is the one in the video. If you want to touch up the paint, you may need to remove the steering and the trim piece to properly paint/wrap it. i was trying to look for the original post but couldn't find it...but this post should contain most of the info you need on the paint - you may need to drop by a local shop to get some touch up paint mixed for you or just get them to do the job instead.
