I switched over to the updated convertible top transmissions and using the microswitch in the convertible top transmission (replacing the b-pillar microswitch and microswitch on top of the convertible top motor).

I should say that a few years ago I replaced the door latch on that side with a genuine Porsche door latch - so my guess is that isn't the issue.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a '98 Boxster and just replaced the convertible top with a '03 convertible top with a glass rear window. I switched over to the updated convertible top transmissions and using the microswitch in the convertible top transmission (replacing the b-pillar microswitch and microswitch on top of the convertible top motor). Everything is working as expected and the light on the dash turns off when the convertible top is in the fully up position or fully down position. I do have a strange issue happening with the passenger window - it sometimes drops (like the convertible top latch is unlatched) when I try to put the window up. I would expect that the convertible top latch isn't fully engaging but this isn't happening on the driver's side. Also, sometimes the auto-close (meaning you press the window up button and hold for it to fully close) doesn't work. Do people think this is microswitch related, the window forgot where the closed position is (I've tried training it several times) or something else? Thoughts?

POST 2Original post

Does the alarm work properly? This sounds more like an issue with the door micro switches on the passenger side than a problem with the top.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 670255

I'm not getting a double beep when I lock the car but do get a single beep (signaling something is open). I agree it sounds like a micro switch issue and seeing as it is only on the passenger side suggests a micro switch in the door, but the micro switches at the inside door pull, outside door pull and the door latch cause the window to drop a little bit and this works perfectly. It is top convertible latch that causes the window to drop more - and this is what I'm experiencing. I should say that a few years ago I replaced the door latch on that side with a genuine Porsche door latch - so my guess is that isn't the issue.
