Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

It definitely looks like a serious styling departure from the 997.

POST 3Original post

The article mentioned it would probably be a 2011, but historically it is more likely to be a 2012 released September of 2011. I'd love for it to come out in 10 though. I'm on the fence about the GTR and would wait for the 998 if that is the timing.

POST 4Original post

I'm sorry RingSport, but you obviously didn't get the memo... The knowledgeable experts of Porsche Planet ( CaymanClub) announced many, many months ago, that there would be absolutely no crossover from current Porsche ownership, going over to Nissan to buy that pathetic GT-R skumbucket. So, as it is, I am not too sure you will be allowed to do this.

POST 5Original post

Hahaha, I actually got the memo but it wasn't notarized so I disregarded it. If they wouldn't have done the second price hike it would be in my garage right now. The funny thing is when I took my wife to drive it, we pulled onto the lot and she said; "It's made by Nissan?" I guess I had only referred to it as the GTR. Suffice it to say she's completely against the idea of an $85k Nissan. The 370 on the other hand she thinks would make a good track car project!

POST 6Original post

Definitely evolution over revolution, true to its Porsche badge. If those are final design elements and not camo, I can see the 997 Turbo and Panamera inspiration in the bumper fog lights and the air intakes. The side view mirrors and parking light also follow the upcoming design style since they're similiar to the Panamera's. I definitely look forward to seeing more.

POST 8Original post

I hope those Mirrors can be folded. I almost scrape mine when I was reversing out of my garage last weekend. The 998 looks longer and sleeker than the 997. i think I will like it. Saying this, I wouldn't swap mine unless the 998 1. Use more aluminium-----its getting heavier 2. 400+bhp maybe a 4 litre flat 6 3. Slightly better legroom in the rear for kids

POST 9Original post

it maybe all the effect of the "camo", but it looks like the rear roofline is more sloped, which could mean less headroom if the car is not much longer or the car is longer and there is more room. I could be off. I also wonder how heavy it will be. Finally, do you think that roof spoiler is camo or an aerodynamic part of the car? Thanks, Mark
