Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

He confirmed that I had still not worn out the pads completely , so no metal to metal contact.

POST 1Original post

I took my car in for 30,000 KM servicing (about 18,500 miles). I also asked for a brake change since this would be the first. The guy calls me up later and says my 2 front rotors need to be changed due to burning. I asked how I would burn a pair of rotors since I dont track. He said even aggressive road driving could lead to burned rotors. He confirmed that I had still not worn out the pads completely , so no metal to metal contact. I allowed him to change it but asked to see the rotors when I pick it up. He said the ring (seen in the image below) is the burn mark and the consequence would be the rotor breaking since it is now brittle. I was not quite satisfied and felt a little uneasy but not wanting to make a scene simply took pics and left. Any comments guys? Thanks
