Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2000- 996 cabriolet. Using the key in the door lock to lower and raise the convertible top was a great feature. turn the key in the cylinder and hold until the top cycles. same for raising. But now, when I turn the key to unlock the door, the top automatically goes down all the way, without me holding the key in the down position. Very bad when you unlock the car in the rain! Also, now on some occasions, unlocking the door will set off the alarm. These gremlins just started happening all of a sudden. I did have my drainage holes clogged up which did let water into the floor of the car, which has now been dried out and drain holes rectified. Since been dried out and no issues with leaking. Could this still be related, even though it happened a while ago? is this a door switch issue?
