Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that performed work without a confirmed outcome

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace (was cracked)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'good deal' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace (was cracked)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
If it included the Viagra so you could lay flat on your back at the barista bar - then probably a good deal

Still needs the top fixed - replacing the hydraulics.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Owner of a 1999 996 Cab with 92k miles - I've had it for 3 years.
It's currently in the shop with the following work being done. Last week after parking the clutch wouldn't budge and the clutch has been 'sticking' for a few weeks. Towed to local PCA approved garage here in KC. I understand that everyone's prices vary...
Garage hourly rate is $110.00.
Clutch Replaced
AOS replaced
Flywheel replaced (was cracked)
Oil Change
Replaced backlight to odometer
Parts and labor warranted 1 year / 12 months plus whatever warranties are on parts.
Grand total :$3054.00
I did some research (Pelican) and looks to be in-line with avg costs...
It's still being worked on - my guess is 6 hour so far. They called earlier saying they started the clutch work when they saw the flywheel was cracked....
Doesn't seem like a bad price - not sure I'd call it a "Good Deal." Where did you take it? RennsportKC hourly rate is $95. Ain't no better place in town IMHO.
Who has done your regular maintanence for the three years you've owned the car? Why didn't you take it to them? If it is the same shop, after three years you should have a good sense of them and their prices by now. If my clutch started sticking I wouldn't have waited two weeks, I'd have it down at the Barista Bar asap.
Well, Bob Hindson Racing is a great shop. I'd bet that Doc would've been a little cheaper at RennsportKC, but I think you did fine.
Now, about that username . . .
I passed on the Phrase that Shall Not Be Mentioned. It still needs some work and will take her back in a few months. Still needs the top fixed - replacing the hydraulics. As for my previous maintenance, never had issues before and did the normal oil/lube every 4k, new tires, brakes....and IF I could have afforded to take her in 2-3 weeks ago I certainly would have. This is my daily driver.
Yes, I'm a Star Wars geek x100. Tried getting my plates to say 'Wookiee' but it was apparently taken....
If it included the Viagra so you could lay flat on your back at the barista bar - then probably a good deal
If they still have transmission dropped - I'd ask them to do oil cooler o-rings as well ...and I assume they did new rms at least ....
