Anyway, got it resolved thanks, the spacers fitted when exhaust was replaced had pushed the O2 sensors too far out of the gas stream to get an accurate reading - spacers removed, problem resolved!

Throwing inexplicable O2 sensor error codes on my 98 C2, bank 1-3 - sensor just changed, known to be good.

With any luck your indy will have a scope and can test the output from both the front and the rear lambda sensors.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Throwing inexplicable O2 sensor error codes on my 98 C2, bank 1-3 - sensor just changed, known to be good. Some head scratching going at my indy - they've suggested it may be something to do with recent new exhaust, but it shouldn't be as I specifically went for an exhaust that shouldn't need a remap. Also if it was that I would have thought it would affected both banks not just 1-3 (4-6 OK). Any suggestions from the floor please? Thanks

POST 3Original post

With any luck your indy will have a scope and can test the output from both the front and the rear lambda sensors. This will tell you if they are working and also the cat efficiency. They may need to do an oxygen storage test to prove the cats are or aren't triggering the code. But as Richard said what is the code?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Richard, apologies for radio silence, it meltdown courtesy of Win 10 - nightmare! Anyway, got it resolved thanks, the spacers fitted when exhaust was replaced had pushed the O2 sensors too far out of the gas stream to get an accurate reading - spacers removed, problem resolved! Thamks though. j
