Stands a good chance that the reset hadn't been done for several years.

Previously it just lacked that quick increase in power that you'd expect from a 911, but since doing the reset the increase in acceleration when pressing the throttle is instant.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having read a few posts here about doing a Throttle Reset I decided to give it a whirl. There was no reason to actually do it other than to just to see if it actually did anything. I wasn't expecting much but I have to admit that it's actually made a huge difference to the feel of the throttle as it's now far more responsive and far less 'sluggish' than it was. Previously it just lacked that quick increase in power that you'd expect from a 911, but since doing the reset the increase in acceleration when pressing the throttle is instant. Stands a good chance that the reset hadn't been done for several years.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Obviously I jumped straight into Google and searched for Sprint Booster but it looks they only do them for 997's and above. I had found this though: GAN GA and GAN GA+ chiptuning for naturally aspirated engines www.gantuning.com Which essentially plugs into the OBDII port and works it magic that way. Looking at the install guide it does say you need to go on a 120km drive before the configuration is completed. Anyone used one of these before?

POST 6Original post

Don't believe everything on the internet.... the GAN tuner is a waste of time.... check out the SB RSBD166.... works well on the 996 with Egas throttle.....and that's from them themselves.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did wonder how much could be done by something that plugs into the OBDII Port. @Skoosh1970 any idea how easy/hard it is to fit the SB?

POST 8Original post

10 minutes if you know what to do and are flexible enough!!

POST 9Original post

The Sprint booster gets a thumbs up from me and is fitted to my 996
