This is not a probability of success.

I decided to do a test fit and ended up liking it.

In the meanwhile I did a very temporary DIY patch using automotive carpet bought from a local hardware store.

Graphite Grey is apparently completely out of stock and no more will be made, I've looked at getting some of the OEM carpeting to upholster a diy version but I'm not sure if its the same materiel used for the console delete part, might try to get some alcantara samples to see if anything is a close enough match.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been searching for months with almost everything sold out to do the Gt3 console delete for my 996 2003 red/black cabriolet. Got lucky at Suncoastparts Florida but needed to get the red instead of black as the black are heavy backordered. The red took 4 days, and shipped today. I may leave it red in my black interior to see how that works as I have red accents on the carpets. If it looks bad, I will dye it black. Anyway, if you are interested the may have non black items available.

That's been discussed previously. The carpet/backing is too thick to wrap around the edges. I sourced some graphite grey leather from GAHH, and did a DIY upholstery job. Really happy with how it turned out.
Nice, I figured I wasn't the first to take a crack at it. Did you reupholster one of the units in a different color or make the whole thing yourself? I'm trying to 3d print it so I can share the files, but it wouldn't be a direct replacement for the OEM one as took I out the center console.
I reupholstered one of the last real black ones apparently. Also thinking about doing my own design. Gaps between the pieces are more noticeable with the leather.
I have the same dilemma and ended up ordering it from my local Porsche dealer. Apparently they are made to order so they gave me an ETA of May. The price was cheaper then Suncoast for me in Canada when I factor shipping costs. In the meanwhile I did a very temporary DIY patch using automotive carpet bought from a local hardware store. Does the job while I wait for the factory part.
PS: I did get the little plastic trim piece for the shifter from Rosepassion.com
I haven't done many mods to my car, but this was one of them I did and I highly recommend it. I'm 6'1" and the additional leg room is massive and it provides a sorta old school look to the interior which I really like.
I have heated seats and rewired the buttons to the arm rest area in those 2 blank button areas.
For sure, i understand, and also agree with you making a buck off you having the part available. No issue adding a 15-20% mark-up, almost double the price is a little abusive in my opinion though.
But hey, if you find someone willing to pay that, more power to ya. Good luck.
Im not being active about it. Its personal stock and offered it up as a price that Id get rid of it for. Its clearly more valuable in my possession but if someone wants it for that, then Im going to sell it. 👍🏼
compression?
How does one make compression their strong suit?
Its just surprising because people here are usually helping other forum members out. Selling parts for reasonable prices or sometimes just giving parts they no longer need away.
But I understand its from the kindness of your heart that youre offering this at almost twice the retail price.
Haha, nice catch. If everyone went on that theory of pricing, we wouldnt have 996 GT3 seats selling for $9000 now would we? Im sure the next response is the value is what the other person will pay.
I was just correcting your point of reference. My price was for a complete delete. Not half, like you referenced. I should turn around to this wall behind me for a better conversation 🙄
Great news, the part arrived at my dealer las week, april 21st, so less than a month after I ordered it. With my PCA discount it came to $205.34 CAD (~$162 USD). The plastic trim piece cost me $75 CAD (~$60 USD) from Rosepassion.com. Total cost in USD ~$222. I hope this helps somebody and prevents them overspending on an already overpriced item. Cheers!
Just purchased a black CCD in the UK off Design 911 for $237 including all taxes and shipping. It was the last black one they had in stock ...
I collected some parts from my local OPC yesterday and asked them to establish whether the black CCD is temporarily out of stock/on backorder, or whether it is NLA. Will report back with their answer.
When I spoke and ordered mine through my local dealer he told me they are made to order so I'm not sure how many of these are laying around in stock. The turnaround time was quite fast if that's true so i wouldn't worry too much if they have them in inventory.
I just want to plug this mod to anyone who's on the fence. That heavy, bulbous lower console is a drag for your right knee and your eyes alike. Its removal will markedly free up your relationship to the gas pedal, and make the whole interior look a bit more Classic 911.
It's hilariously overpriced for what it
is ,
but imo a terrific value for what it
does
.
I see this comment a lot and every time, I wonder what kind of alien anatomy you guys have for knee cap to be located anywhere near the lower console, and even if it was that low, why is your knee angled all the way to the right like that to make contact with it.
I've never understood it either. I'm 6'-1" and I had zero issues with the standard console.
That's what I found too so I bought one in black with the intention of having it reupholstered in Graphite Gray. I decided to do a test fit and ended up liking it. Plus it helped to break up the sea of gray.
I'm 6'6", and with the center console in, my right hand hits my knee (knee cap) when turning right. I couldn't keep my hand on the wheel. And to keep my knee and lower leg off of the steering wheel, I had to keep my leg pressed into the center console, which hurt the side of my knee.
The Console Delete is the #1 positive thing I've done to the car.
I sit pretty upright because of the Teq cage and the factory seats not being able to go further back. At about 5'9" and 245lbs, sprinter's build with a pretty decent belly... I find that I lean on it but not often. I can see someone at 6'6" having to get rid of it, tall people problems.
Anybody that has done the center console delete willing to part with their center console or a part of it?
I need this red circled piece (you can see in this pic mine is missing):
its the top plate that goes on to the cubby. You cant buy just the plate, the part number is for the entire plastic console.
