Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I asked a foam shaving question and the consensus was to avoid that. Currently have comfort seats in a 996 C4S w/ sunroof. I recline a bit and have seat lowered as much as power will allow and all the way back. Have maybe 3/4" of headroom clearance. I'd like to get another inch so I have the option to sit up a bit more straight. This will not be a track car for me, so helmet clearance is not a goal. Has anyone tried or seen any of the following and gained headroom in their 996? I'd love to hear about actual experience. Also, what mounts/sliders? Sparco R333 BRIDE Stradia LowMax Corbeau A4 w/ shaved base ???

POST 2Original post

I've seen Recaro Sportsters, they look like they give you more headroom that a power seat. I'm a Bride fan and depending on what mount you use, you'll be plenty low.

POST 3Original post

Don’t mess with seats. Convertible with top down. Infinity headroom

POST 4Original post

I need to get lower to the floor so I can see the gauges better through the steering wheel. Also would like to be able to sit my chair a little further back. I have been considering Recaro Pole Positions for my car, but would be curious what other peoples experiences are with those. I am 6’3” and 225lbs. I have heard Pole Positions are a little short on the seat backs, so this is one of my concerns.

POST 5Original post

I have pole positions for the track. Thet r good and low even with the slider kit. im 6'-4" but mostly leg and I fit with a helmet easily. They r hard to get out of and i dont like them for running errands. I think the sportster would be a good option.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, guys. Full race buckets won't be an option I'm interested in. I'll look into the Sportsters - I appreciate that tip.
