But after putting it all back together and testing the gear changes, due to accidently disturbing the highlighted part in the attached photo, M no longer lights up on the dash, but the other lights seem fine.

I've recently done a center console removal and reinstall with the gear in N. But after putting it all back together and testing the gear changes, due to accidently disturbing the highlighted part in the attached photo, M no longer lights up on the dash, but the other lights seem fine. Is there a common position to all cars, the highlighted part should be in when in P, or any logic to its positionining depending on gear ?
