I have a problem with one of my my 996s. It is a 2002 C2 coupe. The driver�s door will not open, I can hear it click when operating the handles but neither the inside or outside door handle will release the latch. I have tried the lock switch and the key fob and key in the lock itself. It sounds like it will lock and unlock. I tried to search for information on removing the door panel with the door closed but was not able to find anything. Does anyone have information about how to remove the door panel while the door is closed or how to release the door latch to open the door. Any information would be very much appreciated. Hi mark. happened to me as well. try to apply pressure to the door from the outside, unlock it with the remote and try to open it. once you get it open, you will need to replace the looking mechanism. good luck.

That is a bummer. You must get the door open anyway you can. Try lock/unlock many times. Push or pull on the door while working the handle. Even if you get the door panel off while the door is closed, you still have to get the door open to replace the door latch mechanism.
