Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I have some rubber fuel injection hoses that have degraded. I would like to replace the rubber hose portion, but reuse the stems. Some of these hoses are very expensive to purchase new, or unavailable for older cars. Can anyone recommend a shop that can replace and re-crimp rubber fuel hoses? Preferably in Northern California, but anywhere will do. Thanks, Jeff

POST 3Original post

This is not Hose but Tube called Polyamide and it is difficult to replace. I have Re-Made lots of CIS lines with this tube but have no experience with 964 models. If you send me a sample I am willing to try the Re-Make for you. Please email me ONLY, NO pm's. Len.Cummings at verizon.net

POST 4Original post

Sorry, should have also mentioned Len Cummings who did my fuel lines for me. Great work great service. Johan

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! Len, I will be in touch with you soon. The lines I am looking to restore are from a 2002 996tt. Specifically three lines for the fuel rail. The outer rubber hose has is showing signs of degradation. In your experience is the Polyamide tube compromised at this point? On a separate and later project, I would like to address the fuel lines in the engine compartment for a 911SC. Thanks, Jeff

POST 6Original post

In my experience, the Polyamide Tube is practically "Bulletproof". It's the rubber cover that degrades over time & conditions. I have Re-Made the CIS lines with a rubber cover....... ...that seems to hold up over time. Certainly can try this with the 964/965 as well. Len.Cummings at verizon.net
