So in theory you could angle them up a touch which would raise them relative to the bumper cut out, but this would also change their angle accordingly.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it possibel to raise the height of exhaust tips which connect to the exhaust exit via the flange type with clamp? I have managed to break the tip loose but can't see a way of raising it as the exhaust is fixed.... Thanks all

POST 2Original post

If it is the cup and socket type with a V section clamp, the only adjustment is the angle they point, at as the mounting fulcrum is fixed as you point out. So in theory you could angle them up a touch which would raise them relative to the bumper cut out, but this would also change their angle accordingly.

Here is a pic I took of mine this weekend whilst I had the rear heat shields off - you can see the ball and socket style fitment that permits, at a guess, 15 degrees of positional variance.

POST 5Original post

If the tips look low relative to the bumper cutouts then your engine mounts may be worn and worth replacing.

What exhaust tips are they please..? Look bigger then my std tips.....and, how do they secure to the pipe..... your car always looks so damn clean by the way and i thought i was thorough....!!!

They are a Porsche Tequipment item, EP4110 and were added with the Aero kit as part of the GT3 launch car replica spec - no sunroof, M30, shell seats etc etc. I got lucky with my car, if I any may say so myself, its a cherished minter with only 50k mikes and pretty much garaged all its life. I ceramic coated it last night and it could pass as 6 months old in my humble opinion.

POST 8Original post

Are the exhaust tips just clamped on and easy to swap over...? I've got my eye on a set on the bay .

Looks fantastic, is it guards red? Just seems to have a more orangey hue but could be your garage lights. I've just got a 996.2 aerokit car and i've become a bit obsessed with them now, I just think the shape looks so good in either .1 or .2 guise.

POST 10Original post

Thanks, it’s Zanzibar Red to match the GT3 launch colour.

POST 11Original post

Yes, just clamped on with a circumferential V band style clamp and can be swapped out easily. Clamping nut is 16mm but often very corroded.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got the RPM Technik CSR tips and exhaust system - a bit too throaty but getting used to it - It's annoying you can't raise the tips - I tried all different angles last night. I've also installed new engine mounts so I guess it is what it is.....

POST 14Original post

Only if you have a 996.1 (rear bumper) the 996.2 rear bumper is and inch or so lower, is less rounded and has more of a lip, so 996.2 exhaust tips sit lower and slightly further back.... EP4110 for the win. But those ebay tips will still look a lot better than the skinny standard 996.1 ones

Based on the design of the flared end, yes - assuming the rest of it is dimensionally correct.
