Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Sam, Moved to the 996 area and I'm sure someone will be able to clarify for you. [ ]

POST 2Original post

The pre-facelift (3.4) cars were fitted with 265x35x18 rears, and the MY2002 facelift (3.6) cars with 285x30x18. Also, the 3.4 cars had 7.5" wide front wheels, and 3.6 cars had 8.0". People often fit 285s on the rear of pre-facelift cars, mainly for the look.

POST 3Original post

Hi, my 996 Cab 2 is currently running on 285X30X18's on the rear. The manual suggests 265X40X18's and the label inside the petrol cap filler suggests 265X35X18's. I am somewhat confused as only recently became a proud owner of my 996, which size should I be using? Thanks for any help. Sam
