Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
Another vote from me for 997 sports seats, probably the best change I've made on my car - the 996 comfort seats were torture devices.
Leading evidence: 'best change i've made' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best change i've made' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace i've made' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Im trying to sit lower in my 996 sports seats, tried everything and reluctant to start messing around with the foam. Can any one suggest best seats to help?
I have boxter read interior, so if after market I will get re-trimmed. I've seen the 997 options, but not convinced they look 'in place' love resto-mod look and have alcantar wheel and handbrake...
Thank you
I swapped out my standard 996 seats with 997 seats, best upgrade I have ever made, you sit much lower and they are pretty much a straight swap.
If you want a more retro look get the inserts done in houndstooth or similar
Ditto. I'm 6ft2 and the 997 sports seats make a huge difference, I can now see all the dials on the dash! (even with Mod7 wheel with offset plate). Slightly less padded in the base but much better lateral hugging in the bolsters.
No, the wiring needs sorting out and the seat belt sockets swapping, but no different to the 997 in that regard. The 981/991 sports seats are harder to come by and more expensive.
Corbeau now do the GT3 seats in kevlar or carbon and will do them in whatever colour you want, for a price.
But starting at £1400+ for the pair they are a reasonable option.

I have 997 seats, so, so much nicer than the 996 seats.
Only photo I have but should show how much lower they sit you.
Here’s a photo of the 996 and the 991 seats side by side in my car, you can see (similar to the above post) how much lower the base is and the bolsters at the front of the seat.
They’re also more supportive under my thighs (behind my knees), as they extend further forward which for a lanky bean pole like me is also a positive. I’ve always found Japanese cars uncomfortable for this reason, the seats tend have less depth to them.
