Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I swapped my bulbs for LED’s and the difference is quite noticeable, especially when backing into my garage at night.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Has anyone addressed this; with different bulbs or additional lights?

POST 2Original post

As I recall, my 2010 987.2 had bulbs for the turn signals, and LEDs for the brake and reverse... if that's correct, then there isn't an easy way to swap the reverse with "brighter" bulbs, as it's not a bulb... it's an LED panel. I did swap my turn bulbs for LED, which helped a lot for visibility... but I never bothered with reverse. You can always add lights, but they would be external to the tail light assembly, most probably, because that assembly is sealed. You'd have to come up with a way to separate it to even get to the internal wires. I would suggest putting a light bar on the back, wired to the reverse light power... that would probably be the easiest thing. Why are you trying to do this at all? I assume because you want more visibility when backing up or something... but beware that some states may not allow this anyway.

POST 4Original post

In the 987.2 , both the turn signals and reverse lights are halogen, and WEAK halogens. They suck. If you look for my name, I have my old lenses for sale that have been converted to LED for both reverse and turn. In the thread, it also tells you which parts I used to convert.

POST 5Original post

Your post does not mention your generation, .1 or .2 True that the 987.2 tail light assembly limits what changes can be made, but in my 987.1 I swapped my bulbs for LED’s and the difference is quite noticeable, especially when backing into my garage at night.
